For Faith Leaders | A Trauma-Informed Approach to ACEs Recovery
Trauma related conversations for those in the long-term recovery zone is often too awkward and uncomfortable for most Sunday School Classes or church groups, and is often dismissed by many faith-based leaders.
There are those in faith communities who are dismissive about the need for emotional healing, and that attitude further complicates the recovery process for people suffering from unresolved trauma.
The task to “write your vision and make it plain upon tablets” makes great use of art as therapy, but it is a hard place to function in, and rare are the shepherds who are willing to step into the murky waters of DISCUSSING long-term ACEs recovery.
That is the reason that Papa God dispatched a vast army of pioneers who are WELL acquainted with the long-term recovery process that forges unshakable faith and allegiance to our Commander In Chief… whose name is Jehovah Tsabaoth, Commander of the hosts of heaven AND of earth!!!
There is tremendous need for healing among prodigals, church dropouts, f-bombers, and other misfits who have walked with Jesus into the dark territories of homelessness, addiction, severe mental illness, isolation, family abandon, poverty, identity crisis, and have experienced not-so-friendly fire in the churches of our childhoods.
Teacher Talk is the hub of my personal experience with ACEs recovery, and is the place to begin your journey with me into Kataluma Adventures at Connie’s House, Where The Crayon Speaks.

Yes! We are in a tremendous battle for the healing our souls, but the great news is, the more you write, the more you will heal!! The more you spill your angst before the Lord, the more He will capture your heart, refresh your spirit, and renew your soul!!!
Complete unity (also known as the wealthy place) in the household of faith may seem impossible to attain, but those are the kinds of challenges that Team Jesus specializes in!!!
Your story may be buried under the rubble of an emotional train wreck, but the blood of Jesus will filter through the turmoil and will eventually uncover and restore the joy of your battered and scattered salvation.
There is victory in the writing of your vision, so I invite you to engage the power of creative journaling and begin filling your journal pages with the blueprints that are born of your frustration with the status quo of church as it once was!
So how about you? Is YOUR tongue the pen of a ready writer? Is your heart overflowing with books that need to be chronicled so they can become the legends of YOUR legacy?!!
For the sake of your own healing, and for your long-held legacy… I invite you to write with me!!! Let’s tell the stories of HOW Jesus walked into the darkest places on the planet and began the process of setting our captive hearts free.
And FEAR NOT!!! Emmanuel means “God is with us,” and if you have walked on any of these dark roads,of life, you are probably already convinced of that fact.
Now is the time for us to share our hope with others who are still learning to trust Him, and be the voice behind them, saying, “this is the way that we walked with Him and He walked with us…”
The world is clamoring for hope and comfort, so let us rise up and give them something TO REALLY TALK ABOUT!!!
I am on a quest to reclaim the reputation of God as a GOOD FATHER; who is OUR FATHER, and I invite you to join me for the adventure. I’ll share more with you about this soon, and am holding you in my heart and prayers!
With much agape,
Connie
“And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.” II Corinthians 1:7
